Hello I have a 23 month old who has had a cardiac arrest at 2 weeks old any goes tachycardiac during any illness since.

However what I am concerned at as he has sleep tremors every night wakes up screaming.

However today in the car he fell asleep and woke up and let this almighty screech out his eyes wide open and it looked like he was awake for around one minute then instantly his eyes shut and he was snoring again ? Then around 2 minutes later he sat bolt up right eyes still shut for around 20 seconds before relaxing back to sleep again.

I’m really confused my health visitor seems to think the night terrors will go away with time he’s had them since his cardiac arrest and this was a whole different ball game.

It was a screech I’ve never heard before any suggestions as to what this could be ?

I am a care worker and watched for signs of distress once waking up.

I did not wake him incase it was like sleep walking but there was so signs of distress and he has been fine since ?

Can’t help with the cardiac episodes but my DS still has night terrors at the age of 6 (sorry!) he doesn’t have them during every sleep but he has no recollection of them when he wakes up. He also sleep walks at times and again has no recollection.
The terrors are very distressing for me to see as he looks so scared but he falls back asleep within a few minutes.

Haha I thought about phoning the dr but I thought they would think I’m crazy lol.

He does have some really bad night terrors they are horrible to watch.

I’m currently waiting on a phone call from my dr hopefully we can get to the bottom of it , so my boy could have these for years to come his night terrors he doesn’t remember either that’s why I’m thinking it’s just another form of night terror.

I almost shot through the roof of my car when he screeched lol thankfully I was parked.

They’ve definitely reduced over time, they were every night at one point. We’ve settled down a lot now. He now only gets them if he’s had his iPad on late, had a particularly hectic day or if he’s worried about something
