Baby wets through nappy in night!

Hi ladies.
My baby is nearly 15 weeks old and sleeps through ( thank the lord after dealing with colic and reflux since birth! ).
However, he on a few occasions is wetting though his nappy. I change it before bed then give him a bottle. Should I try change it a while after his bottle or? I've tried going up a size and this morning he still felt slightly damp! Heeeeeelp.

Try a different brand. Some brands like Sainsbury's always seemed to leak at night for us, I've always found ASDA and Lidl to be good.

@autumnleaves99 ok that's a good idea. We have used Sainsbury's and hates them, pampers always work and have only stopped a few times so I'm wondering if it's how I put them on or... I don't know xx

I’d give it a couple more nights in the bigger size to see if there’s an improvement and also triple check that it’s securely fitted and placed correctly (not always easy on a wriggly baby). We have only ever had leakages either when the nappies were the wrong size or when DD went through a phase of sleeping on her tummy and they always leaked at the front. We just had to make sure to put the nappy on slightly higher at the front.

I second pp's reply, around 4 months I had the same problem with my lo, tried the next size up but still had leaks as they were too big, I buy Aldi / Lidi and they work for us 🤗

rosydreams · 03/10/2019 07:24

yeah i like aldi to

MiniMaxi · 03/10/2019 07:41

Pampers worked for us too

emwithme · 03/10/2019 07:49

Also, make sure there's plenty of vest room - if the vest is too snug the nappy won't be able to expand properly leading to leaks (and poosplosions, in my experience)

Sorry ...

I mean a nappy the correct size closest to babies skin and a nappy one size bigger on top of that.

Thanks ladies!!

I had the same problem and the solution was a bigger size vest for us. If this doesn't work I would try a bigger size nappy or a different brand.

If nothing else works then get a wrap from one of the reusable systems eg a motherease Rikki and put that over the disposable overnight.

My 6 month old sleeps through the night, we use Rascal & Friends nappies, they are brilliant and keep babies bottom dry too! I think pampers work too. Good luck x

My baby's nappy used to leak, I found out we weren't putting the nappy on properly, the flappy bits on the side need to be out, even if there is a little bit tucked in, the nappy would leak!! No-one tells you this!

mysweetlove · 04/10/2019 21:23

I second rascal & friends. My son is almost 2 now but they're great as the waist band seems to sit higher than the others.

We had the same problem and a nappy one size bigger at night worked for us!
