Hi everyone
I currently have a 11 month old who was exclusively bf ( in terms of milk) but for the last week or so, me and hubby have finally weaned him off and started offering cows milk and water instead. Now the problem is the night sleeping. We want to sleep train him as I’m currently pregnant and really would want him to sleep in his own room which is all ready forl him. He starts off sleeping in his cot but in the middle of the night from about midnight hel cry and cry until I bring him to our bed where he will settle but he still whimpers for a very long time sometimes hours and hours. I don’t want to offer him milk at night and I’m literally going mental as I’m becoming so sleep deprived and feel as if I’m not getting anywhere :( any advice?? Also how long did it take you guys to sleep train your LO? thanks!!

Hi Positivevibes91, I am a sleep coach and honestly, there is no exact time it can take to 'sleep train'. A lot will depend on what methods you use, your baby's temperament as this can determine the type of support you offer, how consistent you are and how prepared you are.
I have worked with families who have been done and dusted in 10 days from a baby not sleeping to 'sleeping through' and napping well in their cot to others that take weeks to a month or so, but this can be down to how the parent wants to do it.
Honestly, I don't offer any form of controlled crying with any family I work with, but this is mainly due the fact I get a lot of FOMO babies and this method would never work for them. People I have found that use controlled crying with success are normally done within a few nights so they don't end up coming to me.
You might find some of the articles on my website useful, www.baby2sleep.co.uk and you may also find the Facebook Lives I run weekly on Facebook helpful. These are where you can ask me questions about your baby's sleep and I will do my best to answer them for you. www.facebook.com/Baby2Sleep/
