Post night feed insomnia

Has anyone got any tips for getting myself back to sleep after a night feed? LO is 9 months old, still breastfeeds 1-3 times per night and she sleeps in her own room.

We have a video monitor and I'm a light sleeper, so I'm awake whenever she wakes up/ coughs / anything really. After a feed I come back to bed, baby can take a little while to settle on her own, so I'm awake waiting for her to sleep. Then I'm just awake (reading Mumsnet for hours) while my DH snoozes on...

It's been an hour and a half now and I know we will have another wake up tonight. Please say it's not just me! 😩

It’s not just you, my baby is 3 months old and I also suffer from this. If DH isn’t in the room I listen to podcasts as they can divert my mind from the anxious thoughts that are keeping me awake.

Also awake. Heat, caffeine, anxiety or overthinking are the things that keep me up after the night feed.

Have you tried mindfulness/meditation?
I have a mental visualisation trick that a yoga teacher taught me about 20 years ago, and when I can't sleep I do this trick and it works most of the time.
It's complicated to explain but it's basically relaxation and visualising my thoughts being filled away.
Good luck

Same here.

I used to use a technique learnt in yoga sometimes- mindfully relaxing my body until I dose off but somehow haven’t done in recent months.
Apparently, other stuff to avoid is light, and especially anything blue.
