10 month old sudden sleep issues

My daughter is 10.5 months. Until she was 10 months we'd gently got into a good sleep routing. She's been in her own room since 6 months and would go down with a bottle at 7pm and get up at 7am. Of course she sometimes woke and (often) woke up early, but she was pretty content. Suddenly, out of nowhere she's started waking up with an anguished howl at between 1am and 3am and taking a bottle and up to 2 hours to re-settle. Is this normal? Is it a phase? Am I destined for months of horribly broken nights?

Help!

If it's suddenly started I'd get her checked out for teething or earache - does she show any symptoms during the day?

Doh! It said it hadn't posted so I hit retry!

Teething could be possible - she's got no teeth yet! However there are no day time symptoms abs she's eating and sleeping normally during the day.

Is she definitely awake? My DS2 had night terrors where he'd cry out and sit up but he wasn't awake. I usually just cuddled him until he'd lie down quietly again. He was a bit older during this phase though, maybe 18 months.

Hey Op, this happened to us. Fine until 10 months, followed by three months of sleeps hell and then back to normal as quick as it started. No idea what caused it. Fingers crossed this won’t last long for you Flowers

DailyFailAreTwats · 07/08/2019 08:55

3 months? Oh no! Glad it's not just us though....

Is learning to pull herself up or cruise as my daughter did the same thing at around 9 months and health visitor said it could be due to her trying to master skills during the day like cruising etc. We are now at 10.5 months and it’s just starting to settle back down
