I'm a first time mom I have a 5 day old baby girl and am terrified of SIDS , my baby goes from her back side to her side ( side sleeping ) but not on her tummy , we swaddle her but she unravels her self so we tried it without a swaddle an she slept a lot better without it but at night when me an my husband both wanna sleep it's kind of hard this whole ( u sleep when baby sleeps ) what if something were to happen to her while I'm asleep ? I'd be devastated, I'm gonna be a stay at home mom so I'll need the extra sleep ..... my baby also cries more at night when being put to sleep ...... what can I do to not be paranoid about SIDS

Can you speak to your midwife/health visitor. You may have PND.

5 days post was peak for my anxiety and baby blues. I felt the edge I was on between being okay or slipping back into depression.

My midwife and health visitor always asked about my state of mind, so if you feel you need help ask. They're there to help you and your baby.

On a practical level, we keep our DD with us all the time, so she sleeps in her little bed near us through the day and we carry her upstairs when we go to bed at night. We have a moment pad and monitor underneath her which will set off an alarm if she stops moving. It's so sensitive it can detect their breathing as a movement, so it put mind at rest.

All sounds very normal. Have a look at the lullaby trust website for up to date SIDs info. They the gro swaddles if baby is unravelling. Its like a sleep sack and swaddle with poppers.
