16 week old turning on side midsleep

Hi ladies,

Looking for some advice here.
My DS is 16 weeks old and has started trying to toll from back to tummy, not quite grasped getting his arm round yet, but moves from tummy to back no problem.
He tries turning every time hes on his back, from nappy changes to play time ...
Tonight I've put him to sleep as usual, in his sleeping bag, in his cot, down the bottom and on his back, was just about to get my head down there and could hear him stirring (hes still in room with me, although in his cot) and I watched him sook his fist whilst sleeping and turning onto his side...
I turned him back onto his back and hes sound asleep again.

Any of you had any experience with this and what I should or can do?
I'm in panic mode and dont think I'll sleep from worry that he rolls his face into mattress whilst I'm asleep.

First time mummy and babys dad not living with us at the minute so I literally have no idea what to do.

Any tips or relatable stories would be greatly appreciated

Kathryn x

They need to sleep on their back from both until the can roll for tummy to back. Leave baby be. It’s time for them to just be

Birth* not both

Once he can roll he isn't going to suffocate, no need to worry.
He can already roll from front to back so he won't be stuck and unable to roll or breathe.

Sounds like he's making great progress and is a little star with a lovely mummy

Thank you for the advice and comments ladies.
I'll try my hardest not to stare at him all night and get some much needed rest. Growth spurts mixed with breastfeeding really are hard work Haha 😂

Thanks again. You've eased my mind x
