Do GROWTH SPURTS exist??

Ds is 12 months almost, and has been sleeping from 7pm to 8am for a good while, prob a few months at least.

Lately he keeps waking up at 1am and seems hungry so i give him a bottle, settles back off quite easily, but is this a growth spurt do you think? he has never woken for a feed since being a few months old so very strange for him

Any ideas?

TIA

pucca I can't advise you but the same is happening to my ds2 (only 3.5 m but has been sleeping through, now awake twice in the night urgh)

you could try getting strict for a couple of nights and he will then feed more in the day- but personally I can't face the crying.

CodAintUsingFairyNonBio · 25/07/2007 10:51

nah
all crap imo

Piffle · 25/07/2007 10:52

It's um normal...

At 12 mths could be his activitiy level is raising with walking/learning to walk and stuff.

whywhywhy · 25/07/2007 10:54

piffle ds2 has no routine at all.

10 days ago sleeping through 8.30- 6 ish.

Now waking 11, 3, 5. Argh

pucca · 25/07/2007 10:54

Piff....Surely this would make him more knackered though? it is doing my head in grrr! can't face going back into feeding him through the night again he should be dropping feeds not bloody gaining them

adn they all say they are at different times

Piffle · 25/07/2007 10:56

I never miss what I never had lol

Could you try waking him for a feed before you got to bed so that he gets his feed and you get your sleep maybe?

chopster · 25/07/2007 10:56

I def believe in growth spurts. Mine get hungry and sleepy, but I've never had to give them bottles at night late on for them. He is probably thirsty, give him some water instead.

pucca · 25/07/2007 11:40

Thanks everyone, will try feeding him tonight when i go to bed, and will try the water thing too maybe that would work.
