Daytime napping

I cannot for the life of me get my son to nap in his cot in the day.

He is 10 weeks old and has absolutely no problem going to sleep in his cot at night but no matter what I try he won't sleep in there in the day, he'll only sleep on me or if we are out in the pushchair.

I've tried having him fall asleep me then putting him in bed, I've tried putting him in drowsy like I do at night, I've tried letting him fall asleep on the boob but nothing seems to work.

Any tips?

Following for answers as I'm in the same boat! DD is 7 weeks, feeds to sleep and sleeps easily in her crib from 9pm to 7am (you know, with a million wake ups but is happy to return to the crib). By day, she refuses, even if I lie down with her.

Sling, pram, bouncer, rocking, on your lap, whatever works. Then repeat until it stops working and you have to try something else. They go through so many phases, you just have to try and get a step ahead. At 8 weeks we inherited a nursing chair and I spent hours with ds asleep on me in that. Happy days Smile

I know babies don't 'know' the difference between night and day

BUt

They spent 9 months where from x time in the evening until x time in the morning their bed was relatively still and mostly horizontal and from x time in the morning until x time in the evening being mostly moved around and at least semi vertical.

I know this doesn't help but it may help some understanding and acceptance which makes it all more bearable
