Is it time to drop the daytime nap?

DS is 2 and still naps in the day and I feel like he needs it but he has gone without several times and been ok.
For the past few weeks he's been taking longer and longer to go to sleep at bedtime, he is not generally upset just the odd 'Mummy come here' in between chatting, singing, and playing with his cuddly toys, he goes over his day talking to himself and just doesn't look or seem sleepy.
He will try 'Mummy I need a drink, another cuddle, kiss trick and last night called me
In as he has pulled both his socks off 🤦🏻‍♀️
I'm wondering if dropping his daytime nap will help with bedtime?
Any ideas? Thanks ☺️

How long and when is he sleeping during the day?
My 2.5 yo went through a phase of being dreadful at bedtime as she turned 2, it passed after a few weeks but I'd already stopped her nap as she was managing fine. In the couple of weeks (after 3 months of no nap) her behaviour began to really deteriorate in the afternoon at nursery so she's been having a small nap at nursery - no more than 30 mins and finished by 1pm. That gives her enough awake time to maintain her bed time and seems to work for her. Her behaviour has improved
Can you try reducing nap length and making it no later than 1pm? If no improvement after a week or two try to reduce a little more (10-15 mins) then remove it. I feel like I was too hasty in removing the nap altogether and wished I'd gradually reduced it.
