14 weeks, why is night sleep getting worse?

DD is EBF and is 14 weeks. I wake her to feed at 10.45-11pm before I go to bed. From about 9 weeks, she would then sleep till about 2am, wake and feed, then wake again about 5am for a feed.

Lately she has been waking at 1am, 2am, 4am and 5am. Won't settle back on her own, but when I get up to feed her she only takes 10 mins and is then asleep. Changing nappy maybe gets another 5mins feeding out of her.

She sleeps in her own cot in same room as us, in a Grobag. In the day she feeds about 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 6.30pm, for about 25-40 mins each time.

I feel like as she is getting bigger, she should be waking less in the night, not more! She is gaining weight well, tracking 50th percentile. Am very tired but do not want to stop BF yet. Why is she suddenly waking more? Will she get better or do I have to introduce a bottle of formula at bedtime? (Don't want to do this as it was the beginning of the end of BFing my older DC).

Probably 4mo sleep “regression” which is a common developmental stage. I was rather envious of people who experienced it because it meant their was something to regress from! Most people I know found it resolved itself within a few weeks

Don’t give formula just to get her to sleep as it won’t help. Sounds like typical 4 month sleep regression stuff. It’s really hard and frustrating. Just been through it myself . Good luck

You are approaching the demon sleep regression. Don't give formula, see it though. It does get better.
