9mo keeps sleeping on his front? Is this ok?

My 9month old has slept on his side since he was 6months.... but now keeps rolling onto his front to sleep and I'm up every hour or so putting him to sleep on his back again.

Iv read things online saying it's still bad for a baby to sleep on their front. But my health visitor said that I can leave him now he's 9months. I'm really torn on what to do.

Any advice please.

It's fine. Leave him be.

He’s 9 months old! Absolutely fine. My DD has slept on her front since she started rolling at about 4 months.

Apparently once they can roll over by themselves, it's fine.

It’s fine 🌷. Once they can easily roll over by themselves they can choose how they sleep

It's fine once he can reliably roll himself back every time - once rolling has stopped being a new skill.

One of mine learnt to roll at 12 weeks but only to the left and kept getting stuck against the cot bars then howling til I put her back in the middle - even if she didn't roll left immediately and dozed off she'd be up against the bars howling half an hour later! That was a fun few nights until she learnt to roll to the other side! She was walking at 9 months and sleeping in all sorts of funny ways, usually with her head at the opposite end of the cot to the way I'd put her to bed.

Put him down on his back but it's fine if he rolls at 9 months as long as he can roll back easily.
