6 month old sleep

Hi! - this may be long..
At night my 6 month old has a bottle of formula as part of his bedtime routine, we set him down in his cot (at the side of our bed) and once he starts getting where he wants attention (less than 5 mins later) I breastfeed him to sleep or my DH will rock him to sleep (if my baby is ok with that) normally wants me to feed him.
The rest of the night he wakes and I feed him back to sleep. The very most he ever goes is 3 hours from waking from one sleep to the next. Generally it’s 90mins.

Sometimes if he won’t settle with me feeding him my DH cradles him to sleep. We co sleep all night and it’s been this way since he was 4 weeks old

In the mornings when he wakes up for the day we set him in his cot while we get ready.

During the day, baby has never liked his pushchair, and always wants picking up, I now have a sling which helps loads!! In the day he won’t settle in the car seat unless we time his nap perfectly when we get in the car, any other time he cries until we stop or until one of us gets in the back and plays with him.

If we are at home, he feeds to sleep and he has his full nap on me, on and off the boob as he stirs.

I’ve tried putting him down but he’s instantly awake and cries until he’s asleep in arms again

We use white noise all night long and in the day it’s on to help get him to sleep and when he stirs we put it back on.

In the day, he won’t play on his own for more than a couple of minutes. He wants us to play with him all the time. I’ve tried sitting next to him so I’m close but it’s not good enough, he wants me to be singing, dancing, pulling faces etc.

I can’t go to the supermarket because he’s upset in there. It’s hard to just leave the house when he’s awake because he’s upset in the car/pushchair.

I’m not sure what I’m asking but has anyone else’s baby been the same? My friends all seem to be getting sleep and doing housework etc.

Have you tried a dummy?

HappyBee18 · 26/03/2019 18:48

I don’t really want to do dummies, my sister was 5 when my mum finally got her to stop having it. I’m worried I’m too soft and I would be the same with my LB
This week I’ve started laying his bunny next to him. Hes always loves the bunny when we change his nappy so hoping he will become more attached to that.
