Ds is 2. He goes to bed between 7 - 8pm and wakes up between 7 - 8am.

The problem is that he wakes up about 5 - 10 times during the night. We will be sitting watching tv whilst he is asleep and all of sudden he shouts out and starts moaning. When we go up he is normally standing swaying about! Sometimes he asks for juice, other times he is just moaning.

This might not seem like a problem - but when I am asleep once somthing disturbs me I end up not being able to get back to sleep. So Over time dh and I have become exhausted.

Could there be a reason why he wakes up? I cant really think clearly about it I am so tired. At first I thought night terrors - but he isnt upset as such. Could he be uncomftable in his cot?

Also - should we not rush in to see him and leave him to sort himself out in the hope he puts himself back to sleep?

Any help/advice appreciated. Sorry if this makes no sense I am shattered!! He woke me up and as a result I think that I got about 2 - 3 hours sleep last night.

You might want to repost this with a title as the only way you can access this is too go through 'last day' ATM!

IMO I would give ignoring him a try, unless he is crying and really distressed. Leave a non leak cup of water within reach in case he gets thirsty, but try to get him to settle himself. He could just be a really vivid dreamer, acts out his dreams IYSWIM

Is there anything in his room that could be disturbing him? Lights on or off? Noises outside? You said he was in a cot still, could he be knocking his arms or legs against the sides as he moves and waking himself? Maybe moving him to a bed would help?

Sympathies about the lack of sleep - my DD has turned into quite a bad sleeper as she's teething and I know the joys of sleep deprivation well!
