Hello everyone, hoping I can get some advise on my 2.5 year old toddler sleep,as I am confused at this point!Woke up totally exhausted this morning with my newborn after putting my toddler to sleep at midnight...Waking him up for a nursery this morning was a nightmare with a fully blown tantrum!
I tried to keep him awake during the whole day,but it backfires when I am distracted for few moments and my boy is deep asleep in front of tv at 5 pmConfused. When I manage to put him to sleep at 1pm for an hour,he won’t go sleep till at least 11pm anyway, meaning that he will wake up in the morning very late again..When did your little ones drop naps and how did it go?

Both mine dropped theirs at about 18 months. With the first one I tried to persevere for a bit as I was pg with no. 2 and needed a break, but after several days of him just screaming in his cot I gave up. If he was getting over tired I took him for a drive after lunch every few days as he would fall asleep in the car, but that only worked for another month or so. His night sleep had always been poor, and that didn't really change.
With no. 2 she had a 3hr nap one day as usual and the next she stood in her cot saying no nap, and that was it. She always slept through regardless.

My ds dropped his naps around 2.5, his naps were becoming later and later meaning so was bedtime, I started only letting him nap for 5/10 mins and waking him up then going to bed at a more reasonable time, he didn't like being woken up but very quickly got into the routine of an earlier bedtime at 9pm and sleeping 11/12 hours at night and not having a nap the next day.
