5.5 month old suddenly waking in night

My baby boy has always been a brilliant sleeper from day 1, from 8 weeks old he was sleeping 7-7. In the last 4 weeks he's been waking frequently in the night for anything up to two hours. Not necessarily crying just babbling away, he started to roll over in his sleep which is what I thought was waking him so I bought him a sleeping bag but problem still not resolved. He's not hungry as when I offer him a bottle he's not that interested, dummy (I can put it a good 30 times and he just spits it out to babble) changed nappy, rooms perfect temperature, tried to wind him nothing, white noise, lullabies, no noise at all but he will still lie awake and babble for a good 2 hours a night. The other night he slept perfect 7-7 but I'd gave him some calpol for his teeth but this is something I do not want to do every night but I am wondering if he's suffering in the night with his teeth but wouldn't he be upset 😫

I'm sorry for the long post (first time mum) but any advice would be greatly appreciated 🥰

Mine is doing this, too. I just let him babble on. What are you concerned about with him waking? Lack of sleep or worrying he's in teething pain? Mine started when he figured out how to roll. Apparently it's developmentally normal to start to wake up to practice their new skill all night long.

My 6 month old DD has started waking up too. She's not upset or hungry, as she lies there smiling and 'chatting'! I figured it's just part of her development.
