Sleeping Bags

Hello wise people of Mumsnet,

DD is a reasonable sleeper, we co sleep part of the night but she is becoming very restless. She will go to sleep in her cot with generally no problems, we did have her in a sleeping bag when she was newborn but got out of the habit of using one and I'm wondering if it is ok to reintroduce one now that she is just turning 1?
Will she still be able to roll over into her tummy because that's often how she falls asleep?

Thanks guys

My daughter is nearly 2 and still in sleeping bags. She rolls around her bed all night and sleeps on her front no problem. She has slept without a bag in the warmer summer weather and definitely sleeps better in one!

Thank you for replying. I was worried I'd left it too late and she would feel too contained so to speak, hopefully it will just make her feel more cosy.
Right off to purchase one now, see if we can't encourage the little darling to sleep a bit better Grin

We used one until DD was 18 months; she could roll, stand up and walk across the cot holding on.
We only stopped as she didn’t like being contained any more but if your DD isn’t sleeping that well it might help as it does sort out the problem of them pushing covers off

Oh so fairly mobile wearing one then! At this point I'm willing to try anything. Teething isn't helping our cause much either but I can't do much about that.

At 16 months we still use them. We have a few from ErgoPouch which zip into a sleeping bag and also into legs if he wants to wear it in the night or if we have an evening car journey with a straight to cot transition. Quite expensive but for us have been worth it. They still look brand new. Our son is a fidget in his sleep and rolls all over in it no probs

Yes...15 month old in a grobag and he does laps of his cot every night and prefers to sleep on his front. No way he would keep covers on and the bag helps to restrict his movement a little...he honestly never stops wriggling!

What is it with these babies and them doing laps at night!! I honestly think she gets a good 10 miles in 🏃🏻‍♀️......sounds like she's not alone.

I'm really hoping a sleeping bag will help her settle for longer.

I'll have a look at the ergo pouch, that sounds very handy.

We've got a couple from Jojo for my 14 month old that have legs and detachable arms and shoes which give him good mobility.
