HELLLLPPPP NEEDED.

Hi everyone,

I'm desperate for some advice.

I have a 6 and half month boy, he was breastfed from birth, but around 5 and half months we put him on formula in the day and continued to breastfeed at night. He took to this well.

He's weaning and currently eating 3 good sized meals a day, alongside 3 7oz bottles in the day.

He naps between 2-3 hours in his cot during the day. (Around 9am for an hour. And around 1pm for 1-2 hours)

We start bedtime at 6pm, bath, massage and final bottle and he goes down (really easily) at 6.30pm.

We have tried dragging this bedtime out a little, but by 5pm he's shattered so any later than 6 would be difficult for him.

The last 2/3 weeks he's starting waking more in the night, but problem being he's so wide awake when he wakes that we struggle to get him back to sleep.
Typical example:

Sleep by 6.30, awake at 2 until 3.30, awake again at 4 until 5, awake again at 6 until 6.30 and then wakes for the day by 7.
(Sometimes the waking starts at 12)

We've tried leaving him making noises, we've tried going to him and sshing him, we've tried rocking him, we put his dummy back in when it falls out (about 10 times) but nothing seems to help.

When he wakes, I'm offering him a breastfeed and also water but he isn't overly fussed with either of these and doesnt have a proper feed.

Does anyone know what we are doing wrong?
Why is he sleeping so badly in the second half of the night?
Should I try giving him a formula bottle in the night? (Have put this off as my thinking was he should be able to go without nighttime feeds so was reluctant to introduce it)
Any advice or tips would be appreciated as mummy and daddy are struggling.

THANK YOU.
