Sleepyhead snooze pod

Hi There
My newborn won’t sleep unless he is held which I know is normal whilst they are little but I am considering getting a sleepyhead pod. Has anyone used one before?

Lots of people swear by them but my little boy hates his and has never spent a night in it. It was a waste of money for us unfortunately :( I was really hoping it would be the answer to our problems!

Made no difference here but fortunately hadn’t forked out for it. Safe cosleeping was the only way to get through with a newborn who needed human contact to sleep

Be aware also that they aren’t considered safe from the point of view of SIDS - I am sure you are weighing up risks accordingly but it is something to bear in mind

Baby hated it Sad

Didn't work for us. It's really hit and miss, and I wouldn't bother. They don't fit in it for long either, especially if the baby was on the large side when born.

Have you tried pooping a hot water bottle on the crib beforehand, and putting a top you've worn loads nearby? These things work for some babies, but again not for ours! Ours spent the fourth, fifth and sixth trimesters firmly on me or in our bed...

We use one, it saved us sleep wise. She’s nearly 4 months and sleeps in it at night still

Co sleeping is also not considered safe from a SIDS point of view, so do your own research and assess the risks.

Didn’t work for us - and they outgrow it very quickly.

I could have written this exact post op! How old is your little one? We've been trying to get our LO to go down for a few weeks now. He fought sleep from 19:45 until 2 last night without a wink of sleep so wondered about trying a sleepyhead. The risk of SIDS does worry me though but I've tried to get him to relax on anything over recent nights so am beginning to think it may be worth a try! He'll sleep on me or my OH but this obviously carries its own risks if we nod off and after so little sleep for so long this is a worry too!

We had one and our little girl was in it from birth tbh! We took her out of it and placed her in big cot at 3 months at the side of our bed as I had heard from friends that they had trouble weaning their babies off the sleepyhead and into main cot, just something to bear in mind :) good luck I definitely recommend as it worked for us x

We have a poodle pod went straight for the toddler size even for a newborn and DD has always loved it and now at 18m she will still nap in it. Helpful when visiting friends etc too as portable

Thank you all for your comments. Our little slept for 4 hours in the evening in his Moses basket rather than the next to me crib so we’re going to try that instead.
