New mumsnetter needs help!

Hi all,
Having read a million mumsnet threads on the web, this is now my very first desperate post!

My DD2 is 20 weeks old. At nap times and bedtime I put her in her bed, sing a little song and after two minutes of light crying she falls asleep happily....complete angel compared to DD1 who still has to be driven around in a car for a nap everyday, she's 2!

But! Overnight is a different story! She's started to wake up every hour or so with increasing frequency as the night goes on. She will not settle without boob, but then gets so full she spends five minutes regurgitating milk before she can fall back to sleep! She doesn't fall asleep with the nipple in her mouth, so she's still following the "drowsy but awake" rule... so why WHY is she waking up so much?? And what should I do?

I've tried letting her cry (cruel mother that I am!) but she'll just cry until her next feed is due and she's genuinely hungry!

Please help fabulous mumsnetters!

Hmmm have you tried white noise? I have mine on quite loud for my son. I've also started feeding my son (11weeks) with a bottle then finishing with the boob to ensure he's getting enough bedtime milk as kept falling asleep.mid feed! But it sounds like your problem is different. Is she fully winded before sleeping?

Thanks Surreygirl1987. She doesn't seem to even notice white noise or lack of. She is winded and i'm pretty sure she's getting enough milk. I tried giving her a dummy this week... on the first night she slept for six hours with it in her mouth! Happy days! On the second night she developed a cold and couldn't breathe through her nose so obviously won't take the dummy! I'll try again once the cold passes... fingers crossed! x

Oh brilliant! I give my little boy a dummy for daytime naps - unless he's in the car or pram he can't seem to settle without it! So annoying but I guess some babies just really need to suck! Good luck :)
