Gro snug, arms free, SIDS, Merlin Magic Sleepsuit

Dear all - not given birth yet, expecting twins in mid March, but trying to get bits of info (and certain products) here and there. I know that I will have to absolutely play it by ear, but am still trying to plan and learn about options. The plan is to have them in a Cosatto Close to Me cot, attached to our bed, overnight for six months, feet to opposite ends of bed, Snuza Go on each of them. I’d have them in Gro-Snugs (light, not cosy, as it is above 21 degrees in our house). I am reading the conflicting advice re swaddling, and read it somewhere that Gro Snugs are good because you can keep their arms free, they can wake themselves up and babies being able to wake themselves up is a factor in preventing SIDS. On the other hand, I am also reading that arms movements are not good because babies will wake themselves up unnecessarily. (Is this what’s called the Moro reflex?) I was wondering if any of you thought about this dilemma and what your thoughts were. The question I ask myself is - ok, first night from hospital, do I try to have them sleep with arms out or is it stupid and arms in (the swaddling mode of the Gro Snug) is really the only way to go. I was also wondering if any of you successfully used the Merlin Magic Sleepsuit from 3 months and how it is compared to a Grobag? I know of course that it’s all trial and error, but I of course don’t want to try obviously stupid things or dangerous things. Thank you very much!

Bit late but pre baby!! Did you get answers to all of your questions?
We are using the gro snugs! I saw the light ones half price in John Lewis btw!

We found the Grosnugs really good (had a light and a cosy)

Not stupid at all to try arms out but arms in worked better for our's (though it took us a while to figure it out). It's not quite like traditional swaddling as allows free movement from hips downwards, just keeps arms in and can help them feel secure.

I have heard the Love to Dream Swaddle Ups are good too and think the 50/50 allows arms out if your baby prefers it
