Controlled crying - question

Hi everyone

I have decided to start sleep training my 9 month old as he has been getting worse and worse with him sleep and I'm really struggling with poor sleep for so long.

We are starting tonight but I'm just confused whether we should also be doing the same method for daytime naps? Currently he feeds to sleep for daytime naps and night time but that's what I want to stop (as well as have him settle better and stay settled).

Thanks.

I didn't do controlled crying as such, but taught my DS to get to sleep without boob, so that he could self settle/join sleep cycles. It took about a week in total, and I started with naps as had more willpower during the day than at night when knackered.... Feed til almost asleep then rock to sleep, put down, then progress to feed, put down and rub belly/bum til asleep, then feed, put down and hold hand on til asleep, then finally feed and put down/walk away. We had a bit of crying but not too much. If he fell asleep on the boob I'd gently wake before putting in cot. In this way he learned to self settle and joined his sleep cycles, so started sleeping 7-7. For the first few weeks if he woke in the night DH went in so he couldn't smell my milk. He's rarely woken up in the night since and is still a fab sleeper at almost two. Did his mood and my mental health the world of good too!

Ok great, thank you. I'll fees half to sleep for naps from tomorrow to slowly try to break that cycle too.

I'm really hoping it works as I've heard great things from others who have done cc or similar methods about how their child is more content during the day too.
