Little ones sleep program

Has anyone tried it? Did it work?

DS has never slept more than two hours at a stretch since he was born in May, and it can frequently be less.

I go back to work in February and I am desperate to break the feeding to sleep cycle and am thinking of trying this but want to know if it's worth it before splashing out.

I've read a friend's copy and, honestly, it's nothing you don't already know. It provides sample schedules for daytime naps and information on shush/pat, controlled crying and "self-settling" methods.

I've been in the same boat as you in the last few weeks - up every 1-2 hours and having to breastfeed back to sleep. I'll link you to a thread where I've already typed out what we've been doing to break this cycle. There is hope - he sleeps in 4-5 hour stretches now and it's life changing!

I'd give anything for 4 hours

It worked for me!

It's life changing. I've gone on to buy the toddler sleep programme too.

The baby needs to be able to self soothe first though and then it's just about slowly changing your current routine into this one and stick to it. It's brilliant

Sorry Fairfax I could have sworn I posted the link! I have a couple of replies of what's working for us on this thread

It's been slow going, I won't lie.

If you've got £30 there is no harm in buying the program. I think it gives you access to an online support which may be useful to you.

I should add my baby cannot self settle for sleep. However one asleep he can resettle between sleep cycles at night. Not yet for naps!

Whereas before I would watch him on the monitor wake up and start rooting for the breast, he now rolls over and goes back to sleep. I do believe it's partly developmental and partly the vague training we've done.

We have used the little ones programme since DS was around 4 months, he's now 8 months and I think it's brill! He doesn't self settle at the beginning of naps/bedtime and he usually wakes once at night for a feed but he usually goes down for naps and bed with 5 mins of rocking and then links his sleep cycles once asleep!! If you can afford it I would give it a go, before we started, bedtime was a nightmare and could be as late as midnight before he finally went down and now he's always in bed by 7pm latest!
