Hello..

I always mix 2 Farley rusks into my toddlers milk before bed and that keeps him full and sleep through the night.
I wanted to ask if anyone has any other recommendations on different food I can mix with milk to mix it up abit?

Thanks SmileGrin

Does it need to be mixed with milk? Can’t you give him some toast or a crumpet or something? Maybe a bowl of porridge made with milk?

I hope you have a good dentist!

He enjoys having his milk before bed that's why I was thinking what else I could give it with

How old is he? I think you can mix baby rice with milk to make it nice and thick :)
Only thing I would be thinking is about maybe reducing it down a little as he gets older or he’ll get really used to having a really full tummy at bedtime and it might be harder to knock down that last bedtime bottle
(No judgements at all my DD still has a bedtime bottle, it’s no bad thing at all just a thought :))

Why don’t you give him a bowl of porridge or weetabix then milk on it’s own before bed - and please make sure you’re brushing his teeth after his bottle before he goes to sleep.

If it works and he likes it why change it?

eurochick · 10/12/2018 09:59

I didn't think you were supposed to mix anything into bottled milk!

Porridge/weetabix made with milk for supper is fine though, just not in a bottle. How old is he?

michellemikaeel · 10/12/2018 10:18

He is 16 months old. We have a routine we're hel have the rusks and milk and then brush teeth and bed but I keep thinking the same thing everyday might get boring. So wanted some ideas Smile thank you for all the reply's

We do supper and a feed before bed still.

He has soreen bars, porridge fingers, fruit with yougurt, pancakes/crumpets with butter, toast. Depends what we have in.

He’s 18 months

michellemikaeel · 10/12/2018 11:36

Il give crumpets a go, he's not s fan of toast

The same thing everyday isn't 'boring' - it's routine and absolutely fine!

The old saying "If ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here!

michellemikaeel · 10/12/2018 11:47

That's true actually. Thanks I didn't think of it like that

Toasted teacakes (the ones with currants in them) might work if regular toast doesn't. My son is quite into oat cakes at the moment too. Maybe a warm croissant or pita bread/bread stick with a bit of hummus?
