Bed time while on Holiday

We are going abroad for the first time soo. with our DS who will be 20 months.
He's a good sleeper bed at 7pm and wakes 6.30 - 7.15am.
I was wondering what people did when they went on Holiday with regards to bed time.
I have three possible scenarios:
• Keep his routine and be back at our room
for 7pm and he goes to bed as normal. (🤔)
• We go down for dinner and watch entertainment in hotel kiddies club and mini disco etc and go back to room a bit later for DS to go to bed 9pm ish (maybe an extra cat nap in the afternoon?)
• We go out for dinner and watch the entertainment he does mini disco etc etc and then falls asleep in the pushchair (which he does quite easily in the day if we are out and about) and then we get back to the room what ever time (we are not past mid nighters anyway 😱) and just transfer him to his bed.
If we do this option does he come out to dinner dressed in his pyjamas ready for bed later on 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️
Any experiences or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks 🙂

I guess it all depends on how well your DS sleeps in the pram and how flexible he is with his routine.

Generally most people I know do a mixture of (2) and (3), i.e. they go out for the evening with their babies/toddlers and let them fall asleep in the pram if they end up staying late. They then quickly change them into pyjamas when they get back to the room and put them to bed.

My DD, however, loves her night time sleep and refuses to sleep anywhere other than in a cot. We usually stay up with her until 7.30-8pm, put DD into her cot, leave her with a hotel babysitter (who never sees DD awake) and go out for dinner until 10.30-11pm. DD is 22 months and we have followed this routine since she was 5 months. She is a very reliable sleeper.

We tended to keep DC on UK time, so if it's 8pm in Spain it's 7pm in the UK. That way they would be up a little later but (hopefully) give us an extra hour in the morning.

That said, DC was a great sleeper but would never ever sleep in a pushchair so we would very much be 'option 1' - with DC in bed at roughly the usual time. We deliberately chose villas or hotels with somewhere to sit out so that we could have a drink together rather than having to all sit in the dark!

I think there are divided opinions - many will say that the routine doesn't matter in holiday and to go with the flow; we just hated the idea of being out in the evening with a tired, grumpy child in a pushchair who wouldn't sleep while there was stuff going on.

We do option one (put might push him an hour or so past his bedtime and accept he might have some Less sleep at night) and order room service if haven’t had dinner or have drinks on the balcony and pudding till we are ready to sleep! It doesn’t bother us much and I’d rather have a non cranky happy baby!
I have also put him to bed in bedroom and then gone to dinner with him asleep in pram with snooze shade and ear defenders on! Also worked !

I often would let mine sleep 30 mins more in afternoon nap so he lasted 1-1.5 hours later in evening before he got too cross!
