Advice please! I have a 7 month old who is my dreamy gorgeous rainbow baby who i feel so lucky to have, who also is a nightmare at night. He will go down to bed no problem and go straight to sleep, then a couple of hours later he starts being really unsettled, whinging, thrashing round the cot and he is then like that all night. He still wants feeds in the night which i can live with if he settled back down but he doesn't. He has disturbed sleep all night. I must get up to him a minimum of 20 times. I have tried putting him in my bed for a cuddle to settle him back off but he doesn't even settle then. ( i do not sleep with my baby in my bed before anyone tells me off btw). He has a snuggly and a dummy which he loves. Any suggestions i will try as i am cracking up here!!

We have an Ollie the owl (similar to my hummy), may be worth a try? It has a cry sensor so if baby makes a noise it starts playing for 20 mins

How does he get to sleep at the start of the night? Does his first disturbed period come after or before his first night feed?

Even at 7 months their sleep cycles are quite short and if they can’t get themselves back to sleep at the end/start of a cycle you’ll have lots of disruption as he will need your help.

What is he eating? Is he pooing ok? Your description sounds like he could have trapped wind or some kind of discomfort in his tummy at night. We went through this in the early stages of weaning and were advised not to give round vegetables at night as they generally increase wind, e.g. peas, beans, pulses etc. We also had to stop feeding things like broccoli and cauliflower too.

As soon as i put him down at bed time he goes straight to sleep really well.then its after a few hours he starts. He has quite a lot of veg and all homemade food as he's got a milk protein allergy which did cause him a lot of discomfort earlier on(i did wonder if it had something to do with that).he has gaviscon too. He won't eat or drink more in the day and is falling into breakfast lunch and tea feeding times this week. He does have a lot of broccoli and cauliflower, I'll change it and see how that is. Last night was a nightmare i sat up for hours cuddling him as he was crying and fidgeting in his sleep. Il have a look at those hummie teddies. Im at the end of my tether today i just want to cry all the time.

Also, hes quite sensitive to a lot of food so that's why he has loads of veg. He cannot have soy either. So he's mainly meat and fish with veg for meals.
