Question about co sleeping

I tend to bring 13 wk dd into bed with me after her early morning feed ie 6am. We then quite happily doze until about 9. The problem is that im so scared that she may somehow go under my pillow or tuck herself into me so much that she cant breath(i wear a t shirt) I never fully relax.
Am I doing the right thing. I move my pillows so that they arent above her and lay her ontop of the quilt(she has a grobag on) I also sleep facing her with my one arm streched above her head.
Do I have to face her? sometimes my side goes numb where ive laid on the same side for so long but im frightened to turn over. Anyone who regulary co sleeps have any advice.

Thanks

I tend to co sleep with DS after his early am feed and love every moment - I sleep very lightly so I "wake" whenever DP, DS or I move a tad - and like you my arm is always around him so I aware of most of his wriggling. He gets lots of forehead kisses and murmurs - then just goes back down again. We have even started b/feeding without moving a great deal and it has improved the mood of everyone!

I can't imagine not co-sleeping now, although I was adamant I wouldn't to begin with, but just seeing his contented angel face every morning does it for me. He seems happier for it too - he has napped down far better recently as (I think!) he doesn't feel so abandoned (or so I hope!). Kbaby, As a May babe I know where you are coming from and you sound like you are doing a chuffing brilliant job!

Thats exactly what I used to do, Kbaby. When I got tired of being on one side, I would just roll over, and bring baby too, keeping my arm under his neck, or over his head and around him, so he couldn't roll off the bed. In fact, my babies all slept under the duvet with us, and none of them slipped beneath it,but I would keep my head level with theirs so that I would not pull the covers up too far.
