Blackout...

Hi All,
Wondered if i could pick your collective brains and get some ideas?!
My little ones room is right at the front of our house, near a busy road and gets lots of lovely sunshine during the day and car headlight glare over night... she sleeps far better when in a completely dark room, same as me!
We have wooden slatted blinds and the landlord doesn't want us to put curtain poles up (for black out curtains) or drill any holes (for more effective blinds) fair enough so i'm struggling to think of ways to create a blackout.
I've tried carefully cutting black paper and sticking to the windows- lets light in the sides and looks like a squat, haha!
And i've tried a Gro Anywhere stick on curtain thingy, which was ok, but fell down after a few hours!
Help!
Thank you in advance x

Hiya, we bought one of these kits from Amazon which works a treat www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002WBU62M/ref=mp_s_a_1_15_a_it?keywords=blackout+blinds+stick+on&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1541870200&sr=8-15 - you stick velcro round the window frame and then the fabric adheres to that. It's very easy to take down and put up each day. Assuming it's a uPVC frame the velcro would be fine to remove when you leave.

I'm sure you could also easily recreate something similar and more cheaply with blackout lining fabric from eBay and some velcro stitched to the fabric and stuck to the window frame.

My son's room is like a cave with this on!
