Sleep trainer/consultant - worth the money?

My LO has never been a great sleeper but the past month has been really hard. I'm so exhausted that I'm thinking of getting some help from some kind of sleep expert. My OH thinks it's all a load of rubbish/waste of money but I'm at the stage now where I'd try anything for a decent night's sleep. Has anyone used a sleep trainer/consultant and, if so, was it worth it? Please also share any specific recommendations! TIA x

Yes, we used Ann Caird when DD was 2.3. For me it was the best money I have ever spent - I was pregnant again, working full time and pretty broken by 2 years of on and off shitty sleep. It worked well (and very quickly), was very gentle and made a massive difference to my mental health. It wasn’t cheap but it was definitely the right solution for us

Yes, a thousand times yes, it was worth it. DS1 woke 6 + times a night until he was 9 months old. I was due to go back to work and I knew I couldn't do my job with that little sleep, so we had a night nanny come for one night. He was sleeping through within 3 days. It was expensive but worth it. We are currently in Australia and used a sleep consultant here.

Did they offer gentle methods without crying?

i used ann caird too from nurturing sleep.. she is quite reasonable for a skype call and was worth every penny. no cio or cc methods. i'm about to speak with her again for toddler early wakings and pray it works.
