Hi.
So my lo is 4 weeks today. I guess i just want to check this is normal and im not starting a bad habit. My lo seemd to have mainly grasped night and day a bit and even though his feeds are still all over the place he tends to have a 10 or 10.30 feed then bed then 1 or 2ish feed that he wakes for but sleeps through and then 4ish or 5ish feed. This feed quite often involves him waking up. Yesterday it was coz he did a big poo today its coz he gulped his milk down at such speed he got trapped wind.He just crys with frustration so we have to take him to living room so either me or my oh can sleep and also my dd isn't disturbed in other room. I keep it calm but my lo is just awake and generally not ready to go bk into deep sleep for 1-1.5.This morning he is full of wind and has done so many burps and farts but still cant quite settle. My oh has taken over and wants to put the tv on. Does anyone elses newborn do this? What do we do for the best? My 3 year old from about 3 months went to bed at 6.30 and wake for the day about 5-5.30 for about a year and a half. I no my lo is only 4 weeks. Thanks

I think anything goes at 4 weeks. I wouldn't worry about bad habits at that age.

Sounds about normal to me. Mine only started dropping night feeds and sleeping longer about 6 weeks. He dropped the middle of the night feeds then the last feed got earlier and earlier. He eventually got earlier to bed too. They're still learning to digest milk too so that can cause the wind, especially if he's gulping. Have you tried pacing his feeds and burping mid bottle? I spent a lot of nights sitting up with him, but always made sure he went up at a specific Time in low light so he got used to day/night and he eventually started just sleeping longer.
