Noisy sleeping newborn

My LO is 5 weeks old tomorrow. She's my first so it's all new to me! She has been quite a sleepy baby but this wasnt a surprise as she was poorly after birth and spent a week in special care. She also has a lot of catching up to do growth and weight wise which is going well. She's outgrowing clothes at an alarming rate.

We've started her on the little ones sleep programme so she has a late feed between 10-11pm and an early feed around 2am ish. However, we still aren't sleeping well aa she's so loud to sleep next to. There are a symphony of sounds similar to a baby goat, gremlin or a trucker having a toilet stop. You look over and she's fast asleep.

Does anyone have any experience of this and any tips for surviving this time? Im worried that maybe she isn't getting the deep sleep she needs at night. She has some loud periods during naps but they seem less prolonged.

Completely normal for newborns!
One day you will realise she no longer sounds like a barnyard when she sleeps and you will miss it... in my experience Smile

Thank you. Hubby wants to record it and play it back to her when she's a teenager who wants to sleep in. Its good to hear that its all very normal

Yes they definitely stop eventually, I’d say around 8 weeks and it stopped. They are unbelievably loud aren’t they

My little boy is still noisy and restless at five months so no advice here I am afraid!! What is the little ones sleep programme?

Oh me so glad to know that my baby isn't the only noisy one. It's cracking me up!!! She sounds so congested and have tried nasal drops, plug ins and now on to a humidifier.
Been wondering how soon can I put her in her own room.
I have also recorded her!!!
Hopefully it will pass.
Then when I don't hear her I've to check she is breathing ha ha. Can't win Grin
