Can parent anxiety affect baby sleep?

So had to be up at 5am to go on holiday which sent me into a state of panic....will we get to the ferry on time, what will the traffic be like, will I actually wake up.
Anyway do you think babies can sense parent anxiety and do you think it can affect their sleep? Just a general musing as it seems odd that DS has worse nights sleep when I have somewhere to be or I'm annoyed or worrying about something. He's also in the same room as us.

I imagine it can! For a start, you might be more restless in your sleep, and that might disturb him. But it wouldn't surprise me if they can pick up on our mood more generally as well.

I can relate to your post because I always get anxious before I travel as well - in fact, if I ever have an anxiety dream, it normally features something like panicked last minute packing, or running to catch a train, but having that thing that happens in dreams where it feels like you're running through treacle!

@JaneEyreFunfair yup that's exactly how I get, made even worse after I actually missed a flight for work 🙈
Hopefully DS sleeps better now we're actually on holiday 😂

We went on holiday last month and DD slept amazingly - I think all the excitement wore her out!
