5.5 month old nap problem

My Dd2 has always been a pretty good sleeper but the 4 month sleep regression hit naps hard! Every single nap was a battle, screaming, proper tears and I had to rock her/feed her to sleep and then just let her sleep on me.
We sort of got through that and she was settling herself for maybe all but last nap again and was sleeping for around 45mins at a time (previously was more like 1 - 1.5hours but after the 4 month battles I'll take 45mins!).
Well last week I thought I'd start napping her in her cot ready for the transition to sleeping in there at bedtime at 6months. She's been going down ok (until today!) but only sleeping for max 30mins). Today she has screamed a lot for all naps, one nap was only 20mins long and has been really grouchy.
Any suggestions on how to improve nap settling and length?
Also...going on hol in a week and she won't sleep in buggy so actually shitting myself about the whole thing that I'll just spend the whole time in the dark in the hotel room settling her!
Arghhhh!!
Any advice or similar experience would be greatly appreciated thanks
She doesn't take a dummy, is ebf and we started weaning last week which has been fine so far.
Thanks

Get to the sling library and try a few, hire one to go on holiday with and take the worry away because DD can just nap on you or DH while out and about.

Whoops just seen you're going away in 1 week! I loved the ergo baby Wink totally easy to use, no fiddling about, comfy. Watch youtube videos on how to fit it. Any sling not fitted correctly will be painful to wear!

One thing that might help would be to sleep with the blanket in bed with you, so your scent rubs off on it. That way once baby is settled, they can still smell you and hopefully be soothed.

It is normal for nap times to be short, not sure what time and resources you have available, but you could take baby for a walk in the stroller, rock in a bouncy chair / stroller indoors.

It's important to remember each baby is individual, so your LO may be one of these babies that just doesn't nap.

Saying that, at Montessori, there were parents who were adamant that their child would go down for a sleep after lunch. They all had their pillows / blankets / toy or soother, all had an hour after lunch no issue. Maria Montessori advocates children nap after lunch till 3 or 4.

Hope this helps.
