Co sleeping

Hey Smile
Does anyone else co sleep? My DD is 9 months old and has co slept with me since birth, I don't smoke or drink and I'm not on any medication! I've tried everything to try and get my DD to sleep in her cot but she won't have any of it! I don't mind sleeping with her, I'm just thinking more for future as I have to be in bed at 7.30 with her. She'll
Sleep in the bed by herself and the sofa but not in the cot

I do. My son is 6 months and he has club feet so he has to sleep with a metal bar and little shoes on. I've tried to get him in the cot but he tries to roll over and gets his bars stuck in the side Confused. Half the time I love it, some of the time I get woken by being kicked in the head with metal bars, I'm thinking of making him a little floor bed with bumpers so he can fall asleep next to me and then I can ninja away!

My daughter won't even go in her cot I just tried to put her down and she woke straight up and cried Sad I don't mind it but I agree with you sometimes it's a pain! That's a good idea actually! I may have to try that! I don't know if it's cecause the mattress is too hard in the cot maybe?

Yeah I've been thinking it might be the mattress, he's got used to having my lovely mattress (no not so lovely with baby wee and milk on it!). There are people who co sleep out of choice for much longer and they swear that they choose to go to their own beds at some point... but that might be a long wait!

katzeons · 30/07/2018 22:24

Haha yeah I think that will be! I keep telling myself oh when the time comes she'll sleep in her own bed Grin but I think I'll deffo try that! Yeah mine was lonely too till the wee, milk and dribble came

Coslept with my ds since birth and still do now most nights - he'll be 3yo in October. I can count on one hand the number of times he slept in his cot... it works for us. If we're not co sleeping, he doesn't sleep through.

Try a toddler pod in your bed. Mothercare do one. It's called a Mum to Me... Hopefully she'll get used to going down in it and you might be able to move it into her own bed? Sleepyhead Grand would be the ultimate, but £££

You're right! It's just sometimes I feel like I'm being judged because I do co sleep! I don't mind co sleeping I think it's just if we have a bad night I'm adamant il get her to sleep in cot! Plus I'm going back to work In 8 weeks and il be doing early mornings but she sleeps perfect in the bed even by herself so I'm
Thinking to get a bed guard and a baby monitor

If it helps, my DD never settled in a big cot, even when it was right next to our bed. As soon as we tried a travel cot, she stayed asleep all night. Think she woke herself up against the bars. We have always let her stay in her playpen downstairs with us until she falls asleep, then moved her into her own bed. Might not work for many, but she has her routine and it's always been easier on us than trying to get her to sleep in her own room when she's not ready to sleep.
