Ahhhhh - sleep at last

I would just like to post this message, as I am soooooo chuffed to have cracked the sleep issue with my 16 month daughter.

After her waking at least 2 times a night for a comfort breastfeed I decided enough is enough, took the plunge and went cold turkey on her. This she did not much like, but I have to say it was pretty easy and after one night of much whinging she has pretty much slept through since. Her main moaning has been done during the day but when she realised that the milk had gone she has been alright.

Only problem is that she does not like milk, but will drink step up formula (which is a small price to pay for a good nights sleep). Any ideas for getting her to drink milk? (Yes, I've tried the milkshake stuff)

Sleep wonderful sleep at last.

well done bootyful!
have you tried mixing the step up formula with ordinary milk, first of all with just a tiny %, then build it up to half & half. it was the only way we kidded my dd to take cows milk.

That's an excellent idea, thanks bundle.

I'll try that tonight.

Good news Bootyful! Funnily enough that was the age I decided to take my daughter's (similar) sleep issues in hand and it only took one night for me too (I almost wished I'd tried it months before!!!). It is such a turn around when you know you are going to get a full night's sleep, congratulations.

Well done Bootyful, we went cold turkey too at about this time with ds as he kept waking at night, and after dreading it for weeks, he also slept through after about two nights of moaning.

hooray bootyful. i did the same but much more cruel when ds was just 9 months. amazing that we think they are soooo attached they just cant do without us but how quickly they prove us wrong
