Getting DS to sleep now he's crawling

So bed time has become a bit of a game. My adorable DS happily self settled right up to the point hes crawling everywhere. So now I put him to bed and he moves everything about chatting then ends up crying usually from overtiredness and I have to intervene....lol. In the end he now doesnt sleep as long.

Any advice??

Take away whatever things he’s moving, cot should be empty anyway. Let him cry a little bit if you have to.

I wish I had some advice op! Just chipping in to say that my son is the same.

At bed time he rolls around clapping , laughing and running his hands along the cot bars for about 45 minutes before he becomes upset and I have to stroke his tummy and help him sleep. If I don't let him have this "wind down" time he gets even more stressed and repeatedly chucks his dummy on the floor. He's definitely tired before he is taken to bed tooSmile

I'll be reading any advice you're given with interest.

Ah ok. Its just a comfortor and his myhummy. He has the sleepyhead grand in his cotbed so he uses it as a prop. Clever boy

Totally adorable but hes wearing himself out

Glad i am not alone! He woke at 2.30am shouting duck!! So cute but go to sleep dear....

I have to cuddle him after the little play to get him drowsy enough to sleep. Bad habits creeping back in lol...

It's only a bad habit as you've decided it is one....

I never intervene. My twins mess around in their respective cots for about an hour sometimes, they go to sleep eventually.

Jellybabie3 · 19/07/2018 15:41

Ah I only intervene when he cries. He yelled duck and grandad for a good half hour this morn.

I agree Brighton. My son is at the most adorable age. I cant get enough cuddles...

Hmm anyone have any further advice. We are in a proper routine of sleeping bag (naps) blind drawn, myhummy put down. He instantly starts crying. I leave the room for a few mins and hes sat up face against the bars howling. Will calm if i hold and bounce in the chair for a few min then can be put down 95% asleep (will roll over). I try a little more awake everyday but usually this means 3x attempts then down almost in a deep sleep. Tips? It may well be the 9month regression + heat but its such a shame he had become so good at settling until he could crawl
