Hi MNers,
I posted some time ago now about feeding to sleep, and was reassured by some to forget the age-old bollocks wisdom of "drowsy but awake" and go with the flow (thanks @teaandbiscuits), so that is largely what I did.
Bedtime, as co-sleepers, means that ds will only go down when we do, and so is usually around 10-11pm (although often he falls asleep beforehand on the boob on the sofa and we transfer to bed).
Until the night before last, he would feed non-stop through the night and there was absolutely zero chance of developing any kind of routine with him. Well... out of nowhere, he only woke up 2-3 times to feed the night before last. He had a temperature yesterday, but otherwise well, so I checked his gums, and sure enough he's cutting another tooth. Despite this, the anticipated all-night feeding session didn't come, and again he only woke 2-3 times for a feed last night. This was a surprise, because at the best of times he's an all-night feeder, but particularly so when he's teething.
I know two nights is hardly something to write home about and might still be a fluke, but is it at all possible that we might well be coming to the end of the sleep regression (which seemed to merge into one long period since about 4.5 mths)?
Has anyone had any experience of sleep regressions coming to an abrupt end like this or am I just being hopeful?
Thanks!
