Hello Fellow Mums, I would appreciate your experience, wisdom and advice.

As the title suggests my DS goes to sleep and naps with is sitting with him and using a white noise machine.

We have transitioned as naps were previously by us walking in the pram.

When I have to wake him up, I turn off the white noise and he stirs within a few minutes.

I am thinking how/ when do I remove these sleep dependencies, so he can sleep without us sitting next to his bed and using the sleep machine.

I welcome your experience and advice.

Thanks

Do you think he white noise helps with naps and night time sleep as in prevents short naps and night waking? If so perosonally I’d work on one thing at a time. Firstly in regards to you needing to be in the room, could you try gradual retreat. Over a period of time you just get further and further away from the cot? Once you’ve got him falling asleep without you in the room you could then gradually reduce the volume of the white noise over time untill eventually you don’t need it.

DS is younger at 14 months and we use loud white noise for all sleeps, including all night. It’s not something I’m worried about at the moment as it doesn’t really impact us and imo it’s one of easier sleep associations 😂. When we feel the time is right to remove it I plan to just very very gradually turn the volume down. I know people who have done it this way and it’s worked well :)
