Movement monitors with bedside crib

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my first and trying to get organised! I know people can have conflicting opinions on using movement monitors, but as a worrier I think I'll feel more reassured using something.

I was looking at the angelcare movement mat but I'm going be using a Tutti Bambini bedside crib and I've read they're not effective together as the mat might register my own movements rather than baby's.

Also read about a device called the "Snuza hero" which clips onto baby's nappy...

Anyone have any experience of using a monitor alongside a bedside crib - even better the Tutti Bambini in particular?

Thank you! X

I use the Angelcare sensor mat on my tutti bambini, it's probably not necessary but it's just peace of mind. I don't have the side down all the time though if I do put it down I turn the mat off. Also the mat is quite thick so have to get it in the right spot or creates a lump in the middle as the mattress is fairly thin

If baby is in your room and next to you then you really don't need anything like this.

Mother nature equips us with mum spidey senses.

Then it's just remembering to turn it off when you lift them out and you're half asleep before you deafen yourself and your husband 😂

If they are next to you you will find you sleep so lightly you hear their every snuffle and grunt! I wouldn’t worry about one until they move into a separate cot.

Even in his room with a video monitor, I'm awake as DS starts to come to, but before he actually cries. I can look at the monitor if it's a little noise but he's getting better now so generally I need to go through and feed him and the sooner I go, the quicker and easier it is to settle.

But yeah, mum spidey sense is definitely part of it.
