12 week old suddenly screaming at nap/bedtime

My 12 week old has suddenly started crying/screaming at nap time and bedtime. She has always gone down quite easily and settled herself for both naps and bed but in the last few days she has become really upset. It starts as soon as I dim the room in preparation and the moment I put her in her bed she screams. I think with bedtime it could be overtiredness as she has always battled her last nap of the day and so I'm planning to bring forward bedtime but with nap time I think I'm still getting the timing right as she falls asleep fairly quickly (once I calm her down) and has a decent nap usually. Just hate seeing her so upset. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas why it might be? I don't remember my first doing this at all. Thanks

Hi! My 6 month old daughter is exactly the same and she started doing it at about 3 months as well. I think it's literally because she doesn't like nap time/bedtime because she's so alert and always wants to know what's going on. Having a proper nap routine helps (same times every day), but even with that she sometimes has crying fits when I make her nap. They usually only last 5 mins though and then she drops off. Just a phase I guess, I'm sure when they're teenagers we'll be fighting to get them up out of bed 😂 x

Thank you...reassuring to know it's not just me lol. Haha, so true about the teenager thing!
Yeah she only screams/cries for about 5mins and I can usually calm her with some shushing and stroking her head and then when she starts snuffling her own hand I know she's good to settle herself so I leave her. I guess I'll just ride it out. Thanks for replying xx
