I'm laying my 9 week old stomach down for supervised naps due to griping pain. Would you?

I'm well versed on the 'back to sleep' mantra but my ds has terrible griping pain and colic. Short of holding him with constant pressure against his stomach he won't settle in the day unless he's lying on his stomach.

So he's in his pram napping in the kitchen whilst I get on with tea and cleaning. I'm checking him every 5-10 mins. This is ok isn't it?

I used to do this with my dc. They are 9 and 10 years old now.
We lived in a flat, so it was easy to keep an eye on them.

If you're remembering to check him very frequently it's probably ok. In the worst case obviously 10 minutes is too long though. My dc2 virtually lived and napped in a wrap sling until he was 6 months old, initially because I needed hands free for dc1 who was a small toddler. He was the best nighttime sleeper (in his cot) of all my kids so it seemed to have no impact on nights not to put him down in the day. Is that possible some of the time? Or check slightly more frequently and don't leave him alone in the room - 9 weeks is so little, front sleeping will be ok in a few months when he can deliberately roll himself over.

I'm finding myself checking more like every 5 mins!

He too longs in a stretchy wrap but I'm over a stove and clumsy at the best of times!!
