I've got the angel care with movement sensor - it's quite expensive but for me totally worthy it, I couldn't sleep otherwise, I would be checking on my baby's breathing every 2 minutes!

The movement monitor is useful for reassurance. I couldn’t use it while baby was tiny though as using a next to me cot, worth baring in mind. So it wasn’t until she was in her own room at 6 months that it got used, and by 7 months she was consistently rolling off the sensor causing false alarms at night... so it actually only got used for one month Confused

It depends on what you want. I bought the movement sensor one but never used the sensor mat, and then it broke. So that one wasn't a good buy for me. Now I have a camera monitor (the Summer Infant one) and wish I'd got that in the first place. It has a couple of annoying features but mostly is very good.

I have the anglecare movement and sound monitor. Not used when in with us but great once in his own room. The sensor goes under the cot mattress and then works on movement across the whole mattress. You don't need to place baby directly over it to work. I really like it and the handset isn't always on with that horrible white noise sound in the background, it only activates when there has been some sound in the nursery.

Hi I tried both angelcare monitors the more expensive one I found dreadful it kept going off and then the screen went - took it back hit a replacement same thing we tried three monitors all terrible friends have sworn by it but it was useless for us. Also if you have a side cot you can't use it. We have just the movement pad now which seems fine and have combined it with a Motorola one it's been great so far tbf my PFB doesn't sleep so I can't really comment on night performance. You can try Which free for a trial period I would see what comes best on there.

Why can't you use an angelcare with movement sensor with the next to me cot? I do...
my DP didn't want to get it because of the alarm potentially going off for no reason, but only happened once in 3 months. I know some people have had bad luck with it but it was the right choice for me

MilkAndCookies1 · 11/06/2018 10:45

@Sara the reasons are twofold- the movement sensor can pick up your movement/breathing rather than baby’s, hence may not alarm even if baby stops breathing, and secondly there is no safe way to have the wire coming out to the plug (unless you cut a hole in the next to me cot).

minipie · 11/06/2018 11:07

You also can't use the movement pad with a Sleepyhead or anything similar

We have a hello baby monitor which we have found to be good. The image quality is good enough, and you can attach multiple camera to the same unit which is great with 2 under 2.

@MilkAndCookies1 I had no idea Confused
Welcome back paranoia..
I don't have it attached so I will push it away from the bed a bit
