Wakes up when being put down at night!

My baby is 3 weeks old but won’t sleep in her own Moses basket at night! Me and my partner are having to take it in turns at night with just cuddling her whilst she sleeps as after a few minutes of being put down she wakes up crying again! I really don’t like having her in our bed although we’re very careful not to fall asleep with her it’s still too risky! She’s fine during the day if she’s been cuddled to sleep she’ll be put down and sleep for a couple of hours fine, it’s just at night! Don’t want her in this habit when she’s older!
Any advice is welcome, please help!!

We took it in turns with out LO as the same, it's totally normal. My husband would take her from 6-8:30 in morning in sling whilst I slept for 2.5 hours between feedings. At around 5/6 weeks we were got her in her Moses basket for 2 hours at night. Have you tried hot water bottle in the basket and removing it just before putting her down? Lots of people will say "enjoy the cuddles" & "they're only little once" but I could have punched all those people in the face because I saw no end in sight and just wanted my baby to go down for s couple of hours. Also, my baby slept in Moses basket but sleeps much better in cot because the mattress is so much more comfy. Get a nice mattress and try the hot water bottle

It'll also get easier once they know day / night.

I was about to suggest the hot water bottle. Or a towel on a radiator if it's a central heating time of year.

letty01 - try swaddling your baby.

A simple sheet will do, cut to size if needed (I cut a cot sheet in half along the short edge to make two perfect sized swaddles). Place baby in the centre with head above the sheet and shoulders just on the sheet. Wrap one side over one arm, under baby's back/bum and out the other side. Pull snug. Repeat on the other side.

Ensure baby us well fed, well winded and given a dummy to comfort suck. Swaddle snuggly and put baby down with dummy. Keep your hand on baby's chest as you put baby down and bend to keep your head close to baby's head.

Hearing and feeling your breathing and your touch will help. Comfort sucking on the dummy will help. The tight, secure, safe feeling from the swaddle will help.
