He's going to sleep at 9pm and waking up at 5 30 am, and as a result is a little git all day (he won;t nap in the day anymore)

It also means that I have NO time away from him, as I am constantly up and down the stairs putting him back in his bed blah blah blah.

Short of nailing him to his bed, what can I do? He used to be brilliant,. but over the last 6 weeks he's got progressively wosrse. His bedtime routine is the same as ever, and he goes to bed with a couple of books but it's not enough.

What can I do? Drugs? (me or him, I don;t mind. Pref me)

Stairgate over his door.

IntergalacticWalrus · 20/05/2007 20:39

The stairgate thing doesn't work as he just trashes his room and bothers his little brother. At least when he can walk out onto the landing he doesn't wake DS2 up and cause something akin to WW3

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's ruinning about like a blue arsed fly right now. tis a rioyal pita

IG had exactly the same prob with DS1 a few moths ago - he's 2.7. Thankfully for us the gate still works so we moved his bed into the nursery and there are no toys in there - DS2 now sleeps in the play room. Took a few days to work but we just ignored him when he got up and eventually he learned that sleep is better than being bored!

have you seen the bunny clocks etc that are designed to tell young children when thay can get up - we have on for DS1 now and he does understand it. 'm sure it will work when we can be bothered to hang it out of reach - at the moment he just switches it off

Getting up in the morning isn't a problem, as we are used to the 5 30am start, tbh. he's always been an early riser, and DP and I have ways of coping with it.

It's the night time thingy that's driving us mental. He's finally gone to sleep now, but it's every bloody night we put up with it! I wish we could move the toys from his room, but as we live in a 2 bed shoebox shithole, we have nowhere to put them

He's staying at my mums next weekend, and we need him to sleep when he goes to bed or she won;t have the children again!

I'm bloody desperate!!!!!

(The bunny clock things sounds like a good idea though, I'll look into it. We might even get a lie in until 6am! you never jknow!)

He was still up at 5 30am, and has been a bugger all morning.

I'm tired and I want to cry, and my vacuum cleaner has broken down whichh mkes me wantto cry some more

I'm going to take him to the park in a min and knecaker him out (I do it every day to no avail)

A circus appeared on our local park this morning. I can go and mutter to myself about noise/rubbish/not being consulted about it etc. It'll make me feel better
