What sort of paraphernalia does a newborn require sleep wise? I'm new to all this and currently in the buying everything stage of pregnancy!

Obviously they will require some sort of sleep recepticle - Moses basket, cot, cardboard box, sock drawer etc. but what about bedding etc.? I'm expecting a winter baby and have no idea what I should be looking for?

Grosnugs are nice then switch to grobags when baby is over 8lb 8oz. They need sleepsuits and vests to wear underneath.

I put mine in a short sleeved vest and a sleepsuits with a blanket. I think most people like to use a sleeping bag but my baby hated them.

I'm on it with the vests and sleepsuits (got some great eBay bargains!) but it's the blanket/sleeping bag thingy that confused me!

How do the sleeping bag things work? Do they not wriggle down inside them?

Well you can only use them when they're big enough not to wriggle down so you could use a cellular blanket until then.

Thats what the weight guidelines are for and they have armholes too. Grosnugs you can keep arms in or out like swaddling. Theyre handy for when the baby is asleep on you and you put them down theyre already in the bedding so no tucking in

Defo recommend the sleeping bags/gro snugs. Eliminates the problem of blankets coming off at night, one less thing to wake them up I reckon!
