Is 10 mths too young for 1 nap?

My DD seems to be going through a bit of a change in routine. Previously she had two naps of about 1.5/2 hrs and 40 mins. She sleeps 12 hrs usually at night. This seems to be changing with first nap getting later and second one very short or not at all. Is one nap ok? She'll be going to creche full time in two months & her routine will drastically change then. Up about 3 hrs earlier and having to adjust to the routine of the creche re. feeding etc.

My 10mo has 2 naps most days but can often make do with one, and sometimes he has a cheeky third... he’s completely different to my first who napped like clockwork for 2x 2 hours. All kids are different (so everyone keeps telling me) so I’d just try to focus on “reading” your little one’s signs and if they need a nap let them have one, and if not then don’t sweat it. As you say, it’ll probably all go to pot at childcare!

I dropped to one nap at 12 months with both of mine, in preparation for starting nursery at 13 months. But the second nap had already started to be a struggle by then. I'd go with whatever works to make sure night time sleep is protected...

Mine dropped to 1 nap at about 10 months. I just followed their lead

The only person who can answer your question is your DD - follow her lead. Just as adults have different sleep preferences and routines, so do babies.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I looks very like she's better on the one nap. She's like the Duracell bunny most of the day!
