Screaming all night 😫

Hello,
My little boy is now 14 months old. He’s never slept through, which has never bothered me to much because it would only be the 1/2 wake up and a quick cuddle or boob will help him settle off.
BUT the last two weeks has been hell😫
He was about 10:30, screaming, literally screaming, if I try and put the dummy in, or cuddle him through the cot, he then screams and throws his whole body around the cot. He works himself up that much, that he starts coughing and gagging. Sometimes we stick him in our bed, but even then he fights it sometimes, and he just falls asleep cuddling me or dad but it’s becausd he knackered himself out.

It’s horrible, because his bums clean, he’s been fed, we’ve given him calpol and teething gel to see if it’s that. Just nothing works :(

Sorry about the long post, last night just really upset that it made me tear up, because I literally don’t know what to do

Ill. Flowers because you must be exhausted.

I can do, but I don’t think there’s much wrong with him, he’s absolutely brilliant during the day, I cannot fault him one bit
And thank you, I am exhausted lol x

Just because he's fine during the day shouldn't prevent you getting an opinion at least from a HCP.

Have you looked into milk intolerance? Cows Milk Protein Allergy? My little one really suffered at nights until that was got under control.

GrabbyMcGrabby · 20/05/2018 11:30

And you can't carry on like that either.

Go to your gp, that’s not normal. Lots of conditions present more at night.

Can they just develop milk allergy over night? He’s always been able to eat cheese, yoghurts etc, and be completely fine.
I’ve just checked his teeth and he’s got swollen gums and a grey line where the tooth’s coming through, on both sides of his bottom teeth.
Maybe that’s the case.
I just tried to put him down for a nap but he just reacted the same way that he would at bedtime, so I let him out to play and he’s happy Confused

Maybe he's hungry have you tried feeding him? There are times they just need more or sucking soothes them during teething.

Anbesol and ibuprofen for teeth work better if it is that Flowers

Night terrors of some kind? My DS has these about that age, never lasted all night but sometimes a couple of hours. Might be worth a health check as others have suggested but could equally be psychological/developmental.
