No wet nappies during the night?

DS has stopped peeing during his sleep, I think?

We have little wetness indicators on his nappies and they're now always remaining yellow (they turn blue if they're wet).

Should I be concerned?

Is it the hot weather?

He goes down for bed at 8.

I don't see any wet nappies when I change him in the morning.

Thank you Smile

All night seems like a long time. My 2.5yr dd has never had a dry night. Can only speak from experience of her though.

Sparrowlegs248 · 09/05/2018 22:17

That is very young for no wee over night does he fill his nappy once he wakes?

My 15 month old has a full nappy when he wakes (I don't change it overnight) He has 8oz milk at 7.30pm and a couple of short bf in the night.

Ds1 is 2yrs 10 months and until we potty trained at Easter was also filling nappies over night and often leaking! Since potty training he's dry but does a big wee on waking.

Does he have milk before bed and in the night? Is his wee normal? Dark/smelly?

Hobnobsarenotfordunking · 09/05/2018 22:18

At that age I would be worried. How long has this being going on? I would see your GP tomorrow.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 09/05/2018 22:20

Yep I would also be concerned. is he drinking his milk? Any water? Is he peeing throughout the day?

LittleGreySheep · 09/05/2018 22:38

My DS (3 months) rarely pees while asleep and never poos. He does both as soon as he wakes up though. He's perfectly healthy. The health visitor advised that as long as he is peeing and pooing sufficiently it doesn't matter when he does it.

Hi all,

He doesn't have any liquids during the night.

At about 7.30pm he has his final breastfeed before he goes down.

He has his first feed for the day at around 9am.

During the day, his nappies aren't a smelly wee and he has regular wet nappies.

He seems to 'stop' and go quiet when he's having a wee now Grin

I suppose the lack of fluid over night gives some explanation. I still think it's odd that he doesn't wee after his final feed. It's also a really long time to go without a drink.

My 5 month old wakes up with a completely full wet nappy. He sleeps all night.

Lemondrop99 · 10/05/2018 17:29

My 6 month old has a very heavy happy when he wakes and usually doesn’t have a nightfeed now

YellowStages · 10/05/2018 17:30

Mine has never had a night feed but he did always have wet nappies before

Mine had a bottle before bed at that age and then slept 7-7 so no overnight milk but her nappy would still be soggy in the morning though, to the point where we actually had to size up overnight. I don’t know that it’s a cause for concern, especially if he’s showing no other signs of dehydration but 13.5 hours overnight (if he feeds at 7.30pm then not again until 9am) is longer than the usual 12 hours I’d expect at that age and no wet nappy is unusual. Maybe mention to the HV or doctor too see what they think?

Toasttea · 10/05/2018 18:25

He’s never been fed in the night in the whole 6 months? Is that what you mean?

YellowStages · 10/05/2018 19:56

Toast yes because he's always slept through, 8/9 hours minimum. Strange but true.

Troubled I'll mention it to the GP. He's otherwise incredibly happy when he wakes up and feeds within half hour!
