Would you use a holiday let property's own travel cot?

We are in the process of kitting out a holiday let in the UK. I'm also pregnant with my first DC, so don't feel especially knowledgeable about babies!

One of the management companies we talked to suggested buying a travel cot for the property. But I was worried that as the mattress would be used by different babies (even with a waterproof cover), there would be an increased SIDS risk - www.lullabytrust.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/fact-sheet-mattresses-bedding-and-cots.pdf (see advice on second page about second hand mattresses).

So I thought we wouldn't provide a travel cot. Am I worrying too much about SIDS? Or would people expect a travel cot, so should I buy one anyway? We've bought Ikea's well-reviewed hard plastic high chair (for hygiene purposes - different babies) and, if there are other baby / toddler 'must haves', let me know and we can get them too; I just don't want to provide anything that I'd feel uncomfortable using myself (such as a mattress used by other babies). Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi - we have just kitted our holiday let out late last year ready for this season. We've got 18 weeks booked for this year so far. For babies we've provided a new Hauck travel cot (Lidl had them in), plastic cups & table ware and a wooden flic flac style high chair. Also waterproof bedsheet is folded in one room if required.
Without sounding rude, people with babies are one group but not the only group. We also have older kids to think of (games, DVD's, high speed internet) and also dog owners to cater for (we provide a doggy emergency kit). It is important for your guests to feel that the house will work for everyone not just one group.
Ours is a 3 bed detached with 2 lounges and the fit out has cost £13k. New White goods, new appliances, new high end mattresses.....everything else second hand eBay - so a lot of leg work!!
Hope this info helps! Good luck!

I would say to offer the travel cot as an option, it is up to your guests as to whether they use it or not. It would be best with a removable/washable waterproof cover then any accidents are dealt with by the cover and not the mattress. Something like one of these would do the job www.snugnights.co.uk/baby-and-nursery-accessories/cot-mattress-protectors.html
