night breastfeeding and dental decay? Any experiences?

My 10 month old is breastfed to sleep and bf once or twice during the night. I don't mind this too much but he has 8 teeth now and I'm starting to worry about decay. I have bad teeth and I don't want to cause problems for him. There seems to be controversy about whether night bfing causes dental decay so does anyone have any experience with this?

As long as you brush his teeth before bed & in the morning he will be fine. My dd has milk in a sippy cup through the night & she is now 3 so far she hasn't any problems with dental decay.

I've just been reading about a study which was a study carried out in 1999. Healthy teeth were immersed in various substances, including cows milk, breast milk, sugar solution and water. In cows milk they took 14 weeks to decay, in sugar solution about 4 weeks, but breast milk apparently showed no decalcification to the teeth, the same as the teeth in water. When a small amount of sugar was added to the breastmilk, the teeth decayed even quicker than in the sugar solution.
